Work thoughts about handling heat

TW: this started as light hearted but writing this ended to be more dark so brace yourself for some pessimism.

I was always a person that disliked being cold, leading to my home being a tad more warm than anyone else I know. Winter is rough, but no too much since I can add more layers. Summer is, as offices air conditioners are way too cold for me (and too far from outside temperatures).

Discussing with my colleagues, however, I think I'm the only one ready for climate change (Summer edition, for Winter one I'm the worst one). I can easily handle 10°C more than they feel comfortable in, without needing even a fan. The current heatwave in Europe is creating a lot of complaints (be safe, everyone) and I do agree that most buildings aren't fit for it. Humans, on the other side, will have to rely on technology.

Seeing folks my age not being trained to handle more temperatures difference, the work culture forcing everyone to wear pants in unbearable summer heat (else it looks "unprofessional"), or to stay outside during the warmest times (we shouldn't have given up the nap culture), makes me think we're doomed as a species. So many illogical rules while we could stop, think, and solve most of the first world issues we have.

They say my folks are pessimistic about the future and overly dramatic but how can we not be? June/early July shouldn't feel like peak summer weather.
